The United War Veterans Council, producers of the New York City Veterans Day Parade, and founders of New York City’s Vets Week, has been tapped by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to represent not only the New York City veteran’s community, but also all of New York State in the traditional Presidential Inaugural Parade.
On Monday, January 21, 2013, board members, staff, special guests, and volunteers will travel to our Nation’s capital to honor the Commander-in-Chief, President Barack Obama, and also Vice President, Joe Biden, on the day of their inauguration.
The parade includes a procession of ceremonial military regiments, citizens’ groups, marching bands, and floats. The inauguration parade is open to the public and will be televised so that Americans across the country can watch the special display of democracy at work.
